Official 1973 Buick Riviera promotion movie, mixed with images and movie clips of Dutch Buick Rivieras. Title of the song is "Two tons of steel", performed by Buddard. This original promo movie was bought by my mate Rob Houter, converted into a digital version, and edited by Rob with the music and other footage.
This is video I took at the 2007 Buick Club of America National Meet hosted by the North Cascades Chapter in Bellevue, Wa at the Hilton. This video is the Buick Y-Job Concept Car driving onto the trailer lift. My friend was actually lucky enough to get to ride in it. This and other members of the GM Heritage Collection were on display: Probably the most famous, The LeSabre, Blackhawk, SilverArrowIII, a 1939 Buick Limousine, a 1964 Buick Electra 225 cvt, a Nickel car, and two brass cars.
Oh boy. At least seven attempts later...it finally started. It ran and drove pretty good for a free car. The spark plugs came from the white car (see my other videos). I'll need to get a battery and see if I can fix the power steering leak.
"The Great American Road" jingle! Full-sing, tailored just for the Regal. In my mind, 1987 is when a lot of GM cars started to look more stylized and contemporary and less boxy, and this is a good example. My parents had both an '86 and an '87 Olds and they were very different from each other.
Film released July 16, 1937. One of the biggest stars of the 1937 Hal Roach film "Topper" is Marion Kerby's "extreme-lined" convertible coupe. The car was unique and was not something made up by General Motors. Well, an important part of it was: the chassis was made by General Motors for the Buick Roadmaster. It was sold to the filmmakers so they could transform it into the sporty and luxurious roadster that the script demanded. In the film it is driven by the debonair Cary Grant (as George) and the timid but hilarious Roland Young (as Cosmo Topper.) After the car's first accident, Constance Bennett, as Marion Kerby, refers to it as her car.During the era of custom bodied cars, one of Los Angeles' most prestigious coachbuilders was Bohman & Schwartz, responsible for many "dream car" bodies ordered by customers in the movie colony. (One of their most famous designs was the Duesenberg created for Clark Gable in 1935.) Tony Gerrity, one of their designers, is the one responsible for the amazing transformation, which contained elements of several advanced design vehicles. Distinctive features included the incredible fin, the exhausts protruding like a supercharged Cord, a shark-like nose similar to the Graham, teardrop fenders, and a very slanted, divided windshield. Car collectors will notice the telltale appointments that were stock Buick accessories, such as the bullet-shaped parking lights on the fenders, and the "banjo" spoke steering wheel. (There were also hidden controls for a stuntman to operate when the car appeared to not have a driver.) The enormous dorsal fin made it impossible to have a rumble seat or trunk lid. But think of the stabilizing qualities it must have had! Legend has it that the director, Norman Z. McLeod, wanted to buy a new "coffin-nosed" Cord, but its body design was far more difficult to modify than the Buick. Elements of this car's styling must have worn off at General Motors, because a similar door-to-fender design was later used in building the Cadillac Special and other G.M. cars. The car stayed in the Roach Studio until 1939, when it was sold to Gilmore Oil. The oil company redesigned it as a parade car, with styling more in tune with the 1940s. It was used to promote their "Red Lion" gasoline, and rented for special events such as car shows and parades. After Mobilgas absorbed Gilmore Oil (in the late 1940s), the car was sent back to Bohman & Schwartz for new paint and some exterior updating. B&S designer W. Everett Miller created a new look for what would become the "Mobilgas Special."By 1954 the Buick straight-eight "Dynaflash" engine was showing its age. C. Bohman & Son (now minus Mr. Schwartz) was chosen again as the renovator for the Buick. The body was remounted on a 1954 Chrysler Imperial Newport chassis and now had a big Chrysler Hemi V8. When put back into service, it was "seen annually by more than five million people" when it glided through such events as the Tournament of Roses Parade, Rodeos, horse shows and the Seattle Seafair Pageant. Eventually the car became property of the Jim Brucker's "Movieland -- Cars of the Stars." Although it served as the Gilmore and Mobil car for most of its life, it is still referred to by many as the "Topper" car. Note: Watch for small parts played in the film by Ford-driver Tom Herbert (the brother of Hugh Herbert), bellhop Arthur Lake and farm boy Doodles Weaver.
This is a original 1971 Buick GSX 455 car. Yes this is a original, NOT A CLONE, 1 of only 124 ever made in 71 that includes 350, 455 and 455 stage 1 cars all together. This has never been registered in the GSX registry until about a week ago. This car was not known to exist until it was discovered a little while ago. There are 3 known so far out of all 1971 GXS's to have a paint code of 62 which is Bittersweet Mist. The others Bittersweet Mist GSX's are restored one is only a 350 engine and 350 auto tranny car. The other is a stage 1 455 car. So this is the only 455 engine 1971 GSX made in the color Bittersweet Mist to date.I have talked to the original owner and have a document that has been signed by him and notorized stating that this is a true 1971 GSX, which he bought on march 12, 1971. I have the original protecto plate. No build sheet was found in the car. This car is a 3 owner car, and can be traced to every owner and all the owners are still alive. This was bought brand new at Key Buick & Opel in Jacksonville, Florida on 3/12/71. It stayed in Florida until mid 1979, then it went to the last of the 3 owners in Alabama where it stayed until about a month ago 2/1/08. Now it resides with me here in Pa. This was always a southern car and is about 98% rust free. It has just a little around the back rear window and a pin hole in the rear seat pan and where the battery box is, that was because of a leaky battery but thats it. I have alot of picture of the doors, trunk, floors, fenders, rad support, frame, etc and all of that is 100% solid. This is a very original car with the exception for the block as it was damaged back in the late 1970's and could not be repaired so it was changed with another but the rest of the car is all near original as you see it in the video. This car has had the passenger side door fixed back in 1971 only 3 months after it was new this was told to me by the original owner. The paint is nearly all original with the exception for the drivers door and rear quater. The interior, transmission, which is the original matching numbers turbo 400, original posi rear end, suspension, etc. This is a unmolested car that still retains, from what I can tell, all of it's original sheetmetal with the exception of the drivers door from what I can tell. you can see in the pictures the faded original paint as well as the original faded painted GSX stripes and hood treatment and the faded GSX decals. This car has a tanish interior and has the following options 455 motor, automatic, air conditioning, GSX option, Bittersweet Mist paint, tan interior, courtesy light package, front and rear bumperettes, power steering, power disk brakes, 15" ralley rims. It is sometimes hard to find 1970 GSX's but there out there as they made 678 and they only came in 2 colors yellow or white now compare that to a 1971 GSX which they only made 124 period and you can get them now in special order colors because every GSX had to be special ordered, that was the only way you could get one. If anyone wants a chance to restore and own a original 1971 GSX here is your chance. These cars in very strong #2 condition or #1 will bring near $100,000 because of what they are. Hello everyone, I would like to add this update. The car was inspected by a very well know GSX expert ( Duane Heckman of philadelphia, pa.)yesterday 03/09/08. He shared his findings and pictures with a other well known GSX restorer's and this is what they came up with THIS IS A GENUINE 1971 GSX. He took every date code he could find. He proved that the car has all of it's original sheetmetal with the exception of the drivers side door. The drivers door is a genuine GM part but was put on the car a couple months after it was purchased. There was some damage on the very front of the drivers side quater as well. This is why the black paint is mostly off the drivers side stripe. These 2 areas were repainted in 1971 as well as the stripes. Now the rest of the car still reatains it's original paint and stripes as well as GSX decals. The proof is in the stripes being that they are original to the car. The spoiler, tach, wheels, interior, bumpers, hoodlight assemblys, are all original to the car. There is also a twist to this car. This is the only known 1971 GSX to have the option W4 as this was protective body side moldings. This was discovered in the inspection. There is not 1 other GSX out there with this option known to exist to date. It'd not a impressive option and everybody didn't order it when they ordered the car but the original owner did. All of the options on the car was also verified. I hope this helps everyone out. Now there is proof on this car and it is now documented as a true original 1971 GSX in bittersweet mist. if anyone has any questions about the inspection please email me or call. Thanks for your interesIf anyone has any questions please email me or call Me(Marty) at 570-875-7109.
This is video I took at the 2007 Buick Club of America National Meet hosted by the North Cascades Chapter in Bellevue, Wa at the Hilton. This car I believe is powered by a 215cid Aluminum Block V8, supercharged, and formerly Alcohol injected. This car is very temperamental to start after sitting for 3+ days. The "thump, whack, tap, or click" noise you hear is the driver pumping the throttle. This car was among other members of the GM Heritage Collection: Probably the most famous, the Y-Job, Blackhawk, SilverArrowIII, a 1939 Buick Limousine, a 1964 Buick Electra 225 cvt, a Nickel car, and two brass cars.
Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds,GAThis is the first day, where everybody tested and tuned. All kinds of Buicks from all over plus one GMC Syclone,a few tuners, and many other makes and models.

This is just about the only non snooze fest clip from one of my "Buick Know-How" tapes for the 1995 Buick Roadmaster. It's short but it's got some great footage of the Arlington, Texas plant showing Roadmasters and other GM B-Bodies on the assembly line.WATCH HQ VERSION http://www.youtube.com/watch?v 72sa-p2SSDs&fmt=6
This is my first attempt at a video here. This is a "walk around" of my 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon with only 26,000 miles on it. The other car is a 1976 Cadillac with only 44,000 original miles.
